Biography

Lauren Elizabeth Urban was born in Washington D.C. January 21, 1986 to Steve and Anne Urban. At the age of five she and her family moved to a small beach community in Florida by the name of Ponte Vedra Beach; known for its place in the PGA’s Players Championship (TPC). Lauren spent the better part of her high school years volunteering for different organizations. One her favorite memories of volunteering was going to the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind on Valentine’s Day and assisting blind children in making Valentine’s Day cards. Lauren was awarded Rotary International’s “Local Hero of the Year” award in 2003 for her countless hours donated to the community.

She has had many opportunities that set her apart from the average 23 year old. She was casted as one of the dancers for the 2004 Super Bowl Half Time Show for Paul McCartney. In 2003, Lauren spent a month traveling up and down the west coast and in 2007 took two weeks to tour Italy. The year 2003 proved to be a very busy year for Lauren as she was chosen as one of 400 students across the country to fly to Washington D.C. and participate in a week-long mock government experience with the National Youth Leadership Conference.

She graduated from Nease High School in 2004 and started school in the fall of that year at Florida State University. After two years at Florida State University, Lauren knew that God had another plan for her, so she took a year off to do an internship in the hospitality industry through the Walt Disney Company. Falling in love with the busy city of Orlando, she transferred to the University of Central Florida to finish up her college career. Lauren is currently a full-time student with the university, working as an event coordinator part-time, and mentoring middle school girls through Girl Scouts of America. She enjoys staying busy and constantly feeling like she’s making a difference in the world. Lauren hopes to continue that feeling throughout the rest of her life, both personally and in her career path.
